Radnor, Pa. – July 8, 2020 – eMoney Advisor (eMoney), a leading provider of technology solutions and services that help people talk about money, today announced it will make its eMoney certification available for free to nearly 2,000 participants in the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®)’s Virtual Externship, which launched on June 1. As the exclusive technology partner, eMoney is also providing participants with access to eMoney Premier, its most robust planning platform, as well as its Advisor Branded Marketing (ABM) solution, and support from its in-house financial planning team. The eight-week program was created in response to the cancellation of internships and job losses within the financial planning profession due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We’re proud to sponsor this program and ensure students and financial professionals are not limited to a shortage of opportunity in today’s ever-changing climate,” said Matthew Schulte, head of financial planning at eMoney. “As technology adoption increases among financial planners, competency in the tools being used is a critical skill for the people who will shape the future of this profession.”
Previously only offered to students in the eMoney University Program, the eMoney certification is a comprehensive application training course that includes both video content and interactive content types. Powered by Thought Industries, the world’s leading B2B customer training provider, the online learning module is available to participants until July 31, 2020. Upon completion, aspiring CFP® professionals will have a marketable skill they can add to their resumes to distinguish themselves amongst their competition when navigating the job market.
“Working alongside eMoney Advisor the past three years has been a rewarding experience and providing FPA virtual externship participants and aspiring certified financial planning professionals with an engaging learning experience through our platform to help them become more marketable is a great way to give back,” said Barry Kelly, CEO, Thought Industries.
The eMoney certification serves as a supplement to the FPA Virtual Externship, which provides in-depth training and exposes attendees to the insights and practices of multiple financial planning firms. Each week, students are encouraged to participate in weekly “Financial Planning in Action” sessions hosted by the FPA Diversity & Inclusion Committee. In addition to weekly assignments, attendees are invited to connect with their peers and practitioner mentors during virtual happy hours to promote collaboration.
“eMoney Advisor has consistently provided cutting-edge technology solutions that enable planners to deliver critical financial planning services. Their support of the FPA Virtual Externship enables program participants to see first-hand how technology integrates into the financial planning process,” said 2020 FPA President Martin C. Seay, Ph.D., CFP®. “We thank eMoney Advisor for their support of the next generation of financial planning practitioners.”
